Welcome to Newton Primary School!
Located in the village of Newton, above Mumbles, in one of the most picturesque locations in the country, our school has a long-standing tradition of excellence.
At Newton Primary School, we are committed to providing every child with an enriching and inspiring education. We believe in nurturing pupils in developing their resilience, and individual well-being. Together, with our talented staff and supportive families and school governors, we aim to empower our children to become confident, curious and compassionate learners.
I am incredibly proud of our pupils, who show a hunger to learn and develop each and every day and bring with them positive attitudes to their learning. We value the strong partnership we have with parents, and I look forward to working closely with you to ensure every child achieves their full potential in a safe, stimulating, and inclusive environment.
I invite you to explore our website to learn more about the opportunities and experiences we offer. Some areas of the website are fully developed, and others we are developing, so please bear with us as we strive to add updates. Should you have any questions or wish to visit our school, please do not hesitate to get in touch.
I am deeply honoured to join such a vibrant and thriving community and I am excited about the journey ahead. I look forward to celebrating the successes of our wonderful pupils together.
Warm regards,

Our Vision
At Newton, we believe that the bedrock of successful learning and development is wellbeing and positive mental health.
We believe in the concept of lifelong learning for all and the notion that learning should be a rewarding and enjoyable experience for everyone, pupil and staff alike; it should be challenging, but fun. We believe in equality of opportunity, working together to overcome any barriers to learning and equipping pupils with the skills, knowledge and understanding necessary to make informed choices.
We take pride in and promote the importance of our Welsh context, and seek to nurture pride in our country: its language, history and traditions, achievements and contributions to the World across the spectrum of human experience.
Our Curriculum is firmly rooted in the Four Purposes, and everything we do contributes towards enabling pupils to become:
Ambitious, Capable Learners
Enterprising, Creative Contributors
Ethical, Informed Citizens
Healthy, Confident Individuals
We have high expectations of ourselves and our pupils and we believe that everyone can achieve, through self-reflection and learning resilience, and we take pride in everyone’s achievement.
In order to achieve our vision, we promote effective links between home, school and the community. We believe in the importance of supporting and challenging each other to learn from mistakes and experiences, promoting the values of tolerance, empathy, enterprise, independence, conscientiousness, creativity, ambition, cooperation, resilience and an eagerness to learn.
We aim to nurture pupils’ self-esteem, and high levels of attainment, to enable them to make excellent progress and be confident in taking their place positively in an ever changing society within a Welsh context.
This will enable our pupils, our staff and all stakeholders to aspire to be the best that we can be, leading to the highest outcomes for all.
